It's even better now...

We took the time to revamp some of the things you already love.

Data

Hierarchy tables just got real easy to use

We've made some enhancements to hierarchy tables with a focus on lessening restrictions and improving usability. These changes introduce a new hierarchy type table that will allow you to pick list from an external source when setting up your parent and child relationships. This means that you can pull data from an existing table and sort it into a hierarchy structure. You can also import data into this new hierarchy type table provided that the data in your import file also exists in your source table.

To add even more flexibility, we're allowing you to customize the column names for externally sourced hierarchy tables. Two columns, Parent and Child, are added by default. You can change these names to meet your business needs.

The hierarchy viewer, which allows you to visualize your hierarchy data in a tree structure, is now also accessible from the Data module.

We want to emphasize that all existing hierarchy functionality is still present. The goal of these enhancements is to encourage more widespread use of hierarchy tables and improve the ability to standardize hierarchy management within Varicent Incentives.

Adding metrics to calculations made simple

Streamline your data with ease by simply clicking the Add metric button next to any numeric column within your data sources. This intuitive enhancement in the user-defined calculation wizard automatically creates a new metric, inheriting the same name from the data source. We have also integrated a default formula using the SUM() function, giving you a head start on your calculations. And you can easily tailor the formula to fit your specific needs.

Reports

Pivot table renamed to reshaped table

In Presenter Adaptive reports, pivot tables have been renamed to be reshaped tables. The name change better reflects the object's use and purpose. The reshaped table enables you to easily aggregate and showcase large data sets to facilitate data analysis and comprehension for payees. To learn more about reshaped tables, see: Adding a reshaped table object to a Presenter Adaptive report.

Introducing hidden row input form fields

Customize your row input forms effortlessly by hiding rows with just a click, with the help of our new Hide column toggle within each column's input settings. You'll be prompted to set a default value for primary key columns before hiding that column. What's more, take control of default values while keeping them hidden from view. Even when hidden, these default values will be securely saved to the table once the user completes the row form.

Navigate currencies easily in tables and charts

Finding the right currency is easier than ever before! With the new search functionality in the Table and Chart object, simply type in the currency abbreviation or the first three characters of a parameter or a stored value, and the corresponding currency will be displayed. We have also added currency abbreviation after each currency, providing instant clarity at a glance. You can leverage parameters and stored values to dynamically display different currencies based on the payee viewing the object. Also, this enhancement allows you to add custom currencies not included in our system table, allowing for greater flexibility and customization.

Optimized row input form validation

We’ve tweaked the behavior when validating forms. Now we’ll only show you errors after you interact with a form. For example, if you click into and then out of a required field, we’ll prompt you to enter data.

Presenter Adaptive report naming requirements

Previously when saving a Presenter Adaptive report, spaces at the beginning or end of the report name would trigger an error message. With this release, we have implemented automatic trimming of leading and trailing spaces, ensuring smooth saving of your report.

Accessibility

Accessibility enhancements

Continuing our dedication to improve our platform's accessibility, we've identified instances where improvements needed to be made to our user interface. We've implemented the following enhancements for this release:

  • Updated elements lacking programmatically defined states

  • Revised fields lacking programmatically defined values

  • Eliminated unnecessary tab focus for non-interactive elements

  • Ensured proper tagging of text as headings

  • Improved page title descriptions for improved navigation

  • Added descriptive visible labels to text form fields

  • Revised reading order of certain elements for more logical screen reader navigation

  • Corrected elements with incorrect roles or labels

  • Revised elements to include announcement of expanded and collapsed states
