Introducing the Varicent Incentives app for Slack

We are thrilled to announce our latest feature - the integration of Incentives with Slack! With the Varicent Incentives app for Slack, payees can manage their compensation information with ease and stay up to date without having to sign in to their Sales Portal account.

Quickly access accurate and up-to-date reports, and generate custom reports and inquiries all within Slack. Admins can enable specific reports in Incentives, ensuring they appear directly in their payee's Slack view. Payees can then access and view these reports at their convenience, allowing them to remotely access the information with ease.

Integrating Incentives with Slack is so simple! Just enter your Sales Portal web address and log in to your Sales Portal account, and you can get up and running with your Slack account. If you need to generate a new report with a specific criteria, we've got you covered! For reports with single or multiple pick-lists, simply select the desired value directly from Slack, and it will generate a fresh report based on your selection.

Simplify your reporting experience and make well-informed decisions with the Varicent Incentives app for Slack!

Note

This feature is available to select Incentives customers in North America. Please contact your CSM for more information or open a Support case ticket if you require assistance.

Reports

Introducing new objects to add to your reports!

In this release, we've created four new objects for your Presenter Adaptive reports.

Date picker

With the Date picker object, you can use a single date to set up filters on the report to limit displayed records. You can also configure conditional display rules and control which objects are displayed or hidden based off the date selected. To learn more about the Date picker, read: Adding a single date picker object to a Presenter Adaptive report.

Metric

With the new Metric object, payees can now access essential summary metrics about their sales with ease.

You can configure the Metric object by selecting a data source, value, and format. Additionally, choose an icon and label to make the information more visually appealing. You can choose to add a description to your Metric object to provide more context. You can also link a web address or an external report to your Metric object to provide further insights.

You also have the flexibility to define conditional formatting rules that determine the text and background color of a Metric object based on its value. By setting a threshold using a source column or numeric value, the formatting will automatically apply when the Metric value meets or exceeds that threshold. You can choose the formatting style that applies to the Metric object including options for value, description, label, and link. The preview option allows you to see real-time changes, and view the formatting before finalizing it.

To learn more about the Metric object, read: Adding a metric object to a Presenter Adaptive report.

Group

With the new Group object, you can easily group multiple objects into one tile to see related objects in a visually cohesive group. You can configure the layout of objects on the group canvas to the desired look and order on the final report. You also have the ability to customize the whole tile or individual objects in the group with a background color and title.

Groups can be expanded or collapsed so that you can choose how much information to display without overwhelming the report. You also have the option to turn off the ability to collapse the group or to have the group expanded by default.

To learn more about the Group object, read: Adding a group object to a Presenter Adaptive report.

List

With the new List object, you can create visually appealing and highly customizable lists. Start by choosing a data source and select the items you want to display. You can also choose to organize your list with ease by numbering the items, making it simple to navigate. You can attach values to your list items as well, providing users with more context at a glance. You can apply a background color and formatting to the name, description, and list number.

The List object also shows a summary of values to provide an insightful overview of your data. Feel free to add links to a web address or an external report, directing your payees to additional resources. You can easily refine your list's results by adding filters to the List object. Simply choose the criteria you want to apply, and the list will only display the items that meet those conditions. You can also control the visibility of your List objects by setting specific conditions for when the object should appear.

To learn more about the List object, read: Adding a list object to a Presenter Adaptive report.

Introducing Range Bar Chart!

You now have one more chart type to add to your Presenter Adaptive reports - Range Bar chart.

Range Bar chart is a chart type that displays bars for each category, ranging between a start value and an end value. You can use a Range Bar chart to display the beginning and end of tasks or target sales values along a time axis. For example, display the range of sales required each month to stay on pace for your territory's potential.

Varicent Learning Portal

Our new learning system is coming soon!

We are happy to announce that we will be transitioning off of Talent LMS to a new Learning Management System (LMS) platform from August 21st to August 25th. All in-progress courses must be completed by August 20th. Otherwise, all history will be lost on in-progress courses, and you will need to start the course from the beginning after we have completed migration to the new LMS platform. To check your courses in progress status:

  1. Log into the Varicent Learning Portal.

  2. Scroll down to the My Course Progress section.

  3. Ensure that the courses in progress tab is selected.

Workflows

Bringing more flexibility for Workflows using a Presenter Adaptive report

You now have the option to delay data updates for Workflows that use a Presenter Adaptive report. This enhancement gives a manager the flexibility to review, approve, or reject the editable report objects before it gets submitted to a table. To find out more about delaying data updates in Workflows, see: Workflow data updates.

Create Workflows using Presenter Adaptive reports that are connected to a Report Data Model

In this release, you can now create Workflows using Presenter Adaptive reports that are connected to a Report Data Model. The Report Data Model can be selected as sources. You can also choose to do an auto update or delayed update for the Presenter Adaptive Report Data Model Workflows. For more details on creating Workflows using Presenter Adaptive reports that are connected to a Report Data Model, read: Creating Workflows based on Presenter Adaptive reports.

Reports

Do even more with your reports!

In this release, all new reports will be created in the Modern report style. If you want to change your report to the Classic style, you can do so in Report options Settings Icon.

When you use the Modern report style, you’ll now see these changes:

  • A difference in the styling of the header, border, and padding of charts

  • A difference in the styling of the header, border, and padding of tables

  • A difference in the styling of the title, border, and padding of pick lists

  • You can now add a gradient background to Bubble and Simple Gauge charts

The Payee object is even better now

In this release, when you change the direction of a Payee object between horizontal and vertical, the content in the tile will be re-arranged and the tile will change its orientation by flipping the height and width accordingly.

Bring your reports to life with tile background colors

You can add a tile background color to Chart, Table, Payee, Metric, Group, and List objects in your Presenter Adaptive report. Customize the background to include either a solid or gradient color.

Tile backgrounds can be added to these objects in both the Modern and Classic report style.

Plus, you can also apply a background color to tables. Turn on the Display table background toggle and start applying custom background colors to your tables!

To find out more about adding tile background colors, read: Adding a colored background to your objects.

Make your reports stand out with tile headers

You now have the option to add a header to Charts, Tables, Row input forms, Group, and List objects in your Presenter Adaptive report. You can also add a title and description for the headers. The headers can be bolded, italicized, or underlined and font colors can be selected. To learn more about tile headers, read: Adding a header to your objects.
