Setting up the Varicent Incentives Slack app

Incentives administrators need to set up the Varicent Incentives Slack app for their users to access their reports and inquiries.

Adding Varicent Incentives app to your Slack workspace

To add Varicent Incentives Slack app to your Slack workspace:

  1. From the Incentives Admin panel, click Model settings settings.svg → Slack app.

  2. Turn on the Slack app access toggle.

  3. Click Add to Slack button.

    You will be redirected to the Slack permissions page.

  4. Select a Slack workspace from the menu drop-down where you wish to install the Varicent Incentives app.

  5. View permissions and select a channel to post app updates in.

    Tip

    We suggest using a blank channel or the Slackbot channel.

  6. Click Allow.

  7. Close the Slack permissions page, and open the Slack app to access the Varicent Incentives app in your selected workspace.

Accessing Incentives Reports on the Slack app

Admins choose which reports their payees can access in the Varicent Incentives app using Portal Access.

Note

You can only select Presenter Adaptive reports.

  1. From the Incentives Admin panel, click Model settings settings.svg → Slack app, and click on the Portal Access hyperlink.

    Or

    Click on the devices.svg Portal Access module.

  2. From the Web Tabs tab, select the checkbox of each report in Slack access that you want to display in the Varicent Incentives app.

Accessing Incentives pick lists on the Slack app

Admins have the option to choose whether they want the report's pick list to be visible in their payee's Varicent Incentives Slack app. You can enable single and multiple pick lists in the Incentives report for your payees to access in the Varicent Incentives Slack app.

Note

You won't be able to display a pick list in the Varicent Incentives Slack app if it's dependent on another pick list.

To give access to a pick list in a report:

  1. In the Reports module, select a Presenter Adaptive report that you have given access to in the Varicent Incentives Slack app.

  2. Click on the pick list that you want to display in the Varicent Incentives Slack app..

    You can add a pick list by clicking on add.svg Add object, and dropping the Pick list object on the report canvas.

  3. Under Slack pick list configuration, turn on the Display in Slack toggle.
